2006 Gibson SG Standard Bass in white. It's in very good condition with just a few small scuffs and dings as well as some lacquer checking. You’ll also note from the pictures that there is some minor cracking in the lacquer between the fingerboard and the neck. This is due to some slight difference in movement between the fingerboard and neck and not a crack in the wood. The frets are in excellent condition with plenty of life left in them and hardly any signs of wear. It's supplied with the original case and manually as well as a 3-month warranty and a 14-day approval period.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with med-low action and a set of round-wound strings. Serial: 004160570. Weight: 8lbs 6oz / 3.79kg. Nut width 40.8 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.3 mm.
The SG Bass has the legendary looks, sound and feel which made it one of Gibson's most iconic basses. The short scale length is actually a big part of this sound! While the short-scale length of the SG Bass is preferred by smaller players, it's also preferred by many for the strong fundamental tone for which this short scale bass is known. As expected, the solid mahogany body has deeply sculpted scarfing and the rounded profile mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard feels familiar and comfortable. A pair of calibrated SG bass pickups (neck and bridge) with individual volume and master tone controls add further tonal possibilities. It has a gloss nitrocellulose finish. The neck has 20 medium jumbo frets. It has chrome Grover shamrock tuners and a 3-point adjustable bridge. The pickguard is black plastic 5-ply and the control knobs are black tophats with silver inserts.
