1962 Fender Precision Bass in good condition with a Sunburst finish over an Alder body. It has a wide C-profile maple neck with a beautiful dark rosewood slab fingerboard, a 7.25" radius and clay dots. Serial: 85958. Supplied in a non-original hard case. There has been a minor alteration to the pickguard - the cutout around the upper half of the pickup has been slightly enlarged. We fitted a new nut. Other than that, this bass is all original and complete.
The body finish has lots of play wear and battle scars, mainly around the edges. The finish on the back of the neck is worn, leaving a smooth feel in the hand. The headstock has a few small scuffs/dings around the edges. The frets have been dressed in our workshop and have plenty of life left in them. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs, including the pickguard, which is fully intact with minimal shrinkage.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of La Bella Olinto Signature Flats. The neck is straight, and the truss rod works correctly. The neck date is Jul '62. Both pots date to the 31st week of '62. The pickups have Black bobbins and original winds. Weight: 8 lbs 10 oz / 3.92 kg. Nut width: 44 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 11.32 K.
