1983 Squier JV series, 62 reissue (Export model) Precision Bass in exceptionally good condition. Fiesta Red over an alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. This bass is all original. Hard case included. Serial: JV59400. Weight: 8 lbs 7 oz / 3.83 kg. Nut width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22 mm.
The neck is dated July 1st 1983. These export series JV basses had more in keeping with the original vintage basses than the Japanese domestic series - USA-made pickups with cloth wires and vintage-style reverse tuners.
There are some very small scuffs in the finish around the edges of the body and at the tip, but nothing major. The neck is straight and clean, as is the headstock. The frets are in great shape. All electronics and hardware are in good working order. This bass has a big round and warm sound in keeping with the vintage vibe. If your budget doesn't stretch to a pre-CBS Fender, then these Japanese-made reissues are an excellent alternative. This bass has been fully set up with a fresh set of La Bella, Olinto flats.
