1977 Music Man Stingray in good condition. Sunburst finish, replacement white pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ, epoxy-coated preamp and through-body stringing. This is an early model with the pickups having long poll pieces and the cavity having two channels to accommodate them. The board has been refretted, lightly sanded and resprayed with a thin, clear lacquer. It has a changed nut, strap buttons and a new white guard. The mute sponge looks to be new also. It comes in a non-original tweed case. Supplied with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day approval period.
The body has a patch of arm wear on the upper bout and a few scuffs and dings around the edges. The headstock also has a few very minor scuffs & dings. The back of the neck also has light to medium playwear through the finish. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. The frets have minimal wear and have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. The electronics work perfectly and all hardware is in excellent condition. The truss rod works correctly without issue. This is an all-round excellent bass.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with low action and is strung with a set of Thomastik-Infeld flat-wound strings. Superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is B002453. Weight: 10 lbs / 4.53 kg. The body has a date stamp of Dex 27th 1976 and the neck, Feb 1st 1977. The pots date to mid-late 76. Nut Width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret 19.6 mm.
