Early 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom in good condition. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 561600, black lacquer finish, 1-piece mahogany body with maple cap; 1-piece mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, original black tolex hard shell case.  Supplied with 3 months warranty and a 14-day returns policy.

Introduced at the summer of 1968 NAMM show the re-issued '50s style Les Paul Customs proved an immediate success. It was the first re-issue of this iconic guitar since it was discontinued in 1960. Within a year of their introduction, Gibson ramped up production and started making changes. This guitar certainly left the factory in the first half of '69 as it retains early features such as a 1-piece body and neck along with the long neck tenon as well as pre T-Top pickups, late 68 pots and no neck volute.

This particular example is missing the pickguard and has been sensitively re-fretted (not huge train track frets) The original nut seems to have been retained.  The guitar arrived with the pickup covers removed. There is no evidence of the pickups being rewound or messed with in any way so this was presumably a previous owner's preference. We have reinstalled the covers.

It has general play-wear along with various small dings and scuffs to the body neck and headstock. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The binding has yellowed which is common. The hardware is in good working order but does show wear to the gold plating, particularly the tops of the pickup covers. It has pat number pickups and the pots all date to the 50th week of 68. It also has original Sprague ''black beauty'' capacitors and untouched solder on the pots.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10s and a low action. Nut width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 23.5 mm. Serial: 561600. Weight: 9 lbs 15 oz.
