1964 Fender Jazzmaster, Sunburst

1964 Fender Jazzmaster with a Sunburst finish in fair/good condition. The bridge cover is missing but otherwise all original and complete including the case. It has a beautiful tortoiseshell pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. The Jazzmaster was Launched in mid 1958 as the top of the range Fender guitar, and featured Fender’s first neck with a rosewood fretboard. It's an incredible Rock’n’Roll and Surf guitar and was a firm favourite of 90s bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.

This is a lovely guitar with moderate lacquer checking and play-wear throughout the finish as well as small dings, scuffs and scratches. There is also some wear along the back of the neck giving it a worn-in, smooth feel. All hardware is original and works perfectly including the truss rod. The frets are in excellent condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The pickguard is fully intact with no cracks. There are no breaks or repairs and everything remains structurally sound.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball regular Slinky 10 gauge strings and a medium-low action. The neck is stamped May 64 B. The Serial is L34110. Both pickups have untouched solder and original windings, only one has a visible pencil date, 7-16-64. (July 16th 1964) The tone pot is dated 21st week of 64, the volume pot 10th week of 64.  Weight 7lbs 1.5oz. Nut width: 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.1 mm. Depth at 12th fret 25 mm. 3-month warranty included.
