1957 Fender Precision Bass in good condition. Original tweed case. First generation, split coil pickup with raised A-pole pieces, 2-Tone Sunburst finish, maple fingerboard, anodized guard, slotted large tuner screws with reverse gears and a V-neck profile.
This bass is a joy to play, and what amazing tone it has! It's all original other than the screws for the metal pickup cover. The finish on the front shows very little wear. The back of the body and edges have a lot of nicks, dings and buckle rash. The frets are clean and in excellent condition having been dressed by my tech. The back of the neck and headstock are also in great shape. There is lacquer checking to the finish throughout.
Set up by my technician with a set of flat wound strings. The action is nice and low. One pot date covered in solder, the other dates to the 4th week of 1957, the body and neck date 10-57. All round fantastic bass. The bass is nice and light weighing only 8 lbs 10 oz, Serial: 024189. Nut width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.5 mm. Come and try it out at my showroom in Shoreditch London.
