1978-81 Fender Telecaster in fair-good condition. Serial:S839307. A fair bit of wear and tear but aside from the pickguard which has a different serial to the headstock, it has all original parts including the case. It's relatively light for a Telecaster from this era, weighing 9lbs 3oz. Supplied with 3-months warranty and a 7-day returns policy.
I've listed this guitar as 78/81 because the serial number indicates 78 but the neck is dated to 1980 and the pots date to 81. During the years 1978 - 1982 Fender guitars showed even less consistency in terms of serial numbers than their earlier 70s predecessors. Some of the necks at the end of the 70s ended up unused until the early 80s.
There are numerous scuffs and dings, mainly around the edge of the body and headstock with one larger dent on the front edge of the body, in line with the strap button. The back of the neck has only light signs of wear in comparison. The frets are on the low side and may only allow for one more fret levelling before needing a re-fret. The neck is straight and the truss rod fully functioning.
This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Nickel D'Addario 10-46 strings and low action. Serial S839307. The neck dates to 1980. Both pots date to 81. Weight 9lbs 3oz. Nut width: 41.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.4 mm.
