1966 Fender Jaguar, Candy Apple Red

1966 Fender Jaguar, Candy Apple Red custom finish with matching headstock in fair-good cosmetic condition. It has a 3-ply white pickguard and rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots. There are extra screw holes under the tuners for Klusons, given that the type of closed back F stamped tuners currently fitted are period correct, i'm not sure if these were on there originally and changed for klusons or vice-versa. (either way, its had Klusons on at some point) There are also screw holes either side of the tail-piece, for what purpose i'm not sure. (possibly some kind of metal cover?) Everything else is original to the guitar. It's supplied in a brand-new Fender case and comes with 3-months warranty and a 7-day returns policy.

The body finish has various small touch ups to the paint and plenty of wear around the edges and buckle rash on the back. The headstock has a small chips in the finish around its edges. The frets are in good condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The truss rod is fully functional with no issues. The back of the neck is relatively clean with light wear to the finish, leaving it smooth in the hand

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of strings and a low action. The neck is stamped Feb 66 B. Serial 127564. Both pots are date stamped 30th week of 65. Both are original with untouched solder. Original black bobbin pickups. Weight 8lbs 2.5oz. Nut width: 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.2 mm. Width at 12th fret: 51.6 mm. Depth at the 12th fret: 23.4 mm. 3-month warranty included.

The Jaguar was launched in 1962 as another top-of-the-line guitar in the same vein as the Jazzmaster. Both guitars shared the modern offset body shape and distinct floating tremolo system. The Jaguar differed in its use of a shorter 24-inch scale length and stronger single-coil pickups, which were encased in notched covers to shield the electronics from external radio noise (a typical annoyance with the Jazzmaster's soapbars). Both guitars integrated a unique dual rhythm/lead circuit design, yet on the Jaguar the lead circuit includes three switches: on-off for the front pickup, on-off for the back pickup, and a bass-cut switch that adds an extra capacitor to the signal.
