1964 Fender Jaguar, Olympic White

Late 1964 Fender Jaguar with serial number: L53728, Olympic White custom colour finish with matching headstock in very good condition. It has a beautiful tortoise shell pickguard and rosewood fingerboard. All original and complete including the bridge cover, tremelo arm and brown case. 3-month warranty and 7-day returns policy included.

The body finish has only mild to medium wear with a few small scuffs dings around the edges. The headstock has a couple of tiny chips and some light scuffs along the top edge. The frets are in great condition with plenty of life left in them having been dressed in our workshop. The truss rod is fully functional with no issues. The back of the neck is very clean with light play-wear along the edges. All electronics and hardware are working correctly and all solder is undisturbed.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky 9 gauge strings and a low action. The neck is stamped Dec 64 B meaning that the dot inlays are pearl rather than "clay." Both pots date to the 50th week of 64. Original black bobbin pickups with original windings. Weight 7lbs 12.5oz. Nut width: 40 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.7 mm. Depth at the 12th fret: 24.8 mm.

The Jaguar was launched in 1962 as another top-of-the-line guitar in the same vein as the Jazzmaster. Both guitars shared the modern offset body shape and distinct floating tremolo system. The Jaguar differed in its use of a shorter 24-inch scale length and stronger single-coil pickups, which were encased in notched covers to shield the electronics from external radio noise (a typical annoyance with the Jazzmaster's soapbars). Both guitars integrated a unique dual rhythm/lead circuit design, yet on the Jaguar the lead circuit includes three switches: on-off for the front pickup, on-off for the back pickup, and a bass-cut switch that adds an extra capacitor to the signal.
