1962 Gibson Bell Stereo 30 / GA-78 RV

1962 Gibson, Bell Stereo 30 / GA-78 RV  amp in excellent condition with original foot-switch. Serial number 161020. It's powered at 110V and comes supplied with a new step-down transformer and a new padded dust cover.

The Gibson-made "Bell Stereo 30" amp was a version of the GA-79 optimized for accordion players and marketed through the Bell accordion company. You can see the Bell model designation on the control panel of the amp. I believe the Bell logo went missing from the front of this amp, and a previous owner purchased a later Gibson logo and installed it.

This combo has a V-fronted cabinet and a pair of re-coned Jensen P10Q speakers that both date to the 10th week of '62. The speakers push individual 15-watt channels, each powered by a pair of EL84s. It has 30 watts of all tube power when run in mono. The amp has a lush, tube-driven reverb. ( the reverb tank has been replaced)

Recently serviced  (with service record provided) The chrome faceplate is in great condition and still shiny. The original textured black sparkle tolex shows only very light wear. The Gibson logo is slightly later '60s

Condition Excellent 8.75/10
