1977 Musicman Stingray in good condition. Sunburst finish, black pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ and through-body stringing. Original Music Man hard case included. It's been refretted, has one changed pot and an 80s Ernie Ball Music Man pre-amp. (the type used up to 1990) This is an early model with the pickups having long pole pieces and the cavity having two channels to accommodate them.
There is lacquer checking in the finish, as well as buckle rash on the back and arm wear on the front. There are also the usual small scuffs and dings in the finish from general use. The headstock has a few dings around the edges. The neck is fairly clean with just a couple of small marks. The neck is straight and plays smoothly, and the truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. The frets are in excellent condition with plenty of life left in them.
This is an excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings and has a great action, allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is: B005118. Weight: 10 lbs 10.5 oz / 4.83 kg. The neck pocket is stamped: Aug 5, 1977. The neck is stamped: July 25 1977. The 2 original pots date to mid-77. Nut Width: 42.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.8mm.
