1978 Rickenbacker 4001 with a Burgundyglo finish in very good condition. Serial number: RJ 5995. There are a few small scuffs and dings here and there, as well as patches of playwear and a circular patch of wear on the back from a sticker. All around lovely bass. The only changes to the bass are shielding paint applied to the cavities and the screws for the pickguard and truss rod cover. It is supplied in an 80s Rickenbacker case. Otherwise original.
Fully set up with a fresh set of strings and a great playing action. The truss rods work as they should, and the neck is straight. The frets are in great shape, having been dressed in our workshop. All electronics and hardware are in good working order with no issues. The Pickups, pots and hardware are all original. The pots all date to mid-1978. The serial dates the production to October 1978. Weight 9 lbs 5.5 oz / 4.24 kg. Nut width 42mm. Depth at 1st fret 23.5 mm.
