1960 Fender Jazzmaster, Sunburst

1960 Fender Jazzmaster, serial: 47114. Sunburst finish in good condition. All original and complete including the bridge cover, tremelo arm and brown case. It has a beautiful tortoiseshell pickguard and a slab rosewood fingerboard. It's an amazing guitar to play and it sounds fantastic. 3-month warranty and 7-day returns policy included.

The Jazzmaster was Launched in mid 1958 as the top of the range Fender guitar, and featured Fender’s first neck with a rosewood fretboard. It's an incredible Rock’n’Roll and Surf guitar and was a firm favourite of 90s bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.

There is light lacquer checking throughout the finish and numerous patches of wear, mainly around the edges of the body. The main areas of the body front and back have smaller nicks and dings but are overall in good shape. The back of the neck is relatively clean with only light play-wear. The edges of the headstock have some bumps and bruises. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The pickguard has shrunk slightly but there are no cracks or breaks. The frets are in good condition with plenty of life left in them and have been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. All hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod which works correctly.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball regular Slinky strings and a medium-low action. The neck has no date stamp which is common in 1960. The tone pot dates to the 47th week of 59, the volume pot 9th week of 60. There are no signs of disturbance to the solder apart from one of the eyelets on the neck pickup and the solder that attaches the brass shielding plate together. Both pickups are original with black bobbins and original windings.  Weight 7lbs 13oz. Nut width: 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.2 mm. Depth at 12th fret 24.6 mm. 3-month warranty included.
