A rare hand-built, hand-wired, point to point Cornell Custom 40 amp from legendary builder Denis Cornell, loosely based on a Twin Tweed. Great care was taken to ensure the shortest signal paths to capture the natural sound of the guitar. Switchable 10 or 40 watts AND built-in switchable tube to silicon rectifier, extremely high quality transformers and 6L6 power tubes. It has a specially designed birch ply cabinet incorporating a Tone Tubby Alnico speaker both carefully chosen as part of the overall amp design.
It has a great sound on its own or can used as the ideal pedal platform due to its headroom at 40 watts or earlier breakup when switched to 10 watts. With it being the right size for any gig it also comes with an additional matching cabinet and second Tone Tubby Alnico speaker that when combined produces a huge sound.
Eric Clapton used the 80 watt version of the same amp where his amp tech worked with Denis Cornell in the design. Recently serviced by Howard Lister at Mac Amplification in Leeds. All valve bases cleaned. Control pots cleaned/lubricated. New valves installed. Tested to spec.
