1961 Fender Precision Bass in very good condition with a body-only refinish in Sunburst over an alder body. It has a wide C-profile maple neck with a beautiful dark slab rosewood fingerboard, a 7.25" radius and clay dots. Serial: 62005. Aside from the refinish, this bass is all original and complete. It is supplied with a new Fender hard case. It's nice and light, weighing in at 8 lbs 3.5 oz.
This is a fantastic playing and sounding instrument. It has an amazing neck and original frets, which are in excellent condition, having been dressed in our workshop. The body finish has only a few small dings and light scuffs. The back of the neck has some play wear through the finish, and the headstock has a few small dings/scuffs. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs, including the pickguard, which is fully intact with minimal shrinkage.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of La Bella Olinto Signature Flats. The neck is straight, and the truss rod works correctly. The neck pencil date is 5-61. The pencil date in the pickup cavity is not visible. Both pots date to the 36st week of '60. The pickups have Black bobbins and original winds. Weight: 8 lbs 3.5 oz / 3.73 kg. Nut width: 44 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.5 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 10.18 k.
