Very early 1979 Musicman Stingray in excellent condition. Walnut finish, black pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2 band EQ, epoxy coated preamp and through-body stringing. All original and complete other than the case. Supplied in a modern Music Man hard case.
There are a few small scuffs/dings in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body with some light scratches on the back. The back of the neck and headstock are relatively clean, as is the fretboard. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. The original frets are in excellent condition with hardly any wear and have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. This is an all-round excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of round-wound strings and has a great action allowing for superb playability up and down the neck.
The serial number is B010763. Weight: 9lbs 11.5oz. The neck is stamped Jan 17, 1979, the neck cavity stamp is barely readable with only Jan visible. The pots all date to mid 77. The truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. Nut Width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.2mm.
