1979 Music Man Sabre bass in excellent condition. It has a rare (fender jazz like) narrow nut measuring only 37.7mm. Walnut finish with a maple neck & fretboard. Black pickguard, 2 band EQ, Contoured body, 2 humbucking pickups, internal micro powered pre amp, brightness + phase in/out and pick up selector switches. Other than the new gator case and replaced mute sponge its all original and complete. It comes with 3-months warranty and a 7-day returns policy.
The body finish is still rich and dark with minor wear and tear including some arm wear on the top bout and some nicks and dings, mainly around the edges. The back of the neck, headstock are very clean. The fretboard has some light play-wear but nothing major. The frets are in lovely condition with plenty of life left in them. The truss rod is fully operational with plenty of room to move. The neck is straight and plays smoothly.
This bass has been fully checked over and set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball 45-105 round wound strings. The body dates to Aug 20th 1979, the neck dates to Sep 27th 1979. All 3 pots date to mid 79. Serial number: C004262. Weight: 9lbs 11oz. Nut width: 37.7 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.3 mm.
