1979 Music Man Sabre bass in near-mint condition. Natural finish with a maple neck and fretboard. It has a black pickguard, a 2-band EQ, 2 humbucking pickups, an internal micro-powered pre-amp with brightness + phase in/out and pickup selector switches. All original and complete including the case.
As already mentioned, this bass is in near-mint condition and it's hard to find any signs of playwear to the finish aside from a couple of tiny dings on the headstock face. The plastics show evidence of age but the metalwork is all clean and shiny. The frets are full and display very little wear. The truss rod is fully operational with plenty of room to move. The neck is straight and plays smoothly.
Only the neck date is completely readable. (June 79) The body date is impossible to read. The volume pot dates to late 78, and the bass and treble pots to early/mid 79.
This bass has been fully checked over and set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball roundwound strings. Serial number: C001335. Weight: 9 lbs 15 oz/ 4.51 kg Nut width: 42.6 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.4 mm.
