1978-80 Fender Precision Bass, in good condition with a Sunburst finish over an Ash body. The serial is S869417. It weighs 9lbs 15.5oz. This bass has a changed nut, an aftermarket pickguard and some touched up the solder. Otherwise original including the case. I have dated the bass 78-80 because whilst the serial number and pots indicate 78 the pickups are dated 1980. This is common with Fender instruments from 78 through to about 1982
This is a great Fender P-Bass with a straight neck and original frets. The frets do have some play wear but the playability is not affected and there's plenty of life left in them. There are a few small scuffs and dings around the edges of the body and back of the neck/ headstock.
This bass has been fully set up with a low action and a fresh set of Rotosound Nickel round-wound strings. The pots date to the 21st week of 78, the pickups are stamped 80, have original winds and strong output. Nut width:41.57mm depth at 1st fret: 22.75mm.
