1973 Rickenbacker 4001, Jetglo finish with checkerboard binding in good condition. It comes in a slightly later period Rickenbacker case, but otherwise all original. Supplied with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy. Serial MG 3142. (July 1973) Weight 9lbs 6oz / 4.26kg. Nut width 42.6 mm. Depth at 1st fret 22 mm.
It has checkered binding on the body, white (now cream-coloured) binding on the neck & pearl inlays. The toaster & lead pickups sound fantastic with strong output. The wavy Grover tuners are clean and fully functioning. The neck is clean and straight with only one or two small dings/scuffs. The frets are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The headstock has a few scuffs around the edges. There are a few tiny dings on the front of the body and some patches of wear around the edges as well as some scuffs and buckle rash on the back. This bass is great fun to play and has that killer Rick tone.
All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The pots date to early '73. The truss rods are fully functioning and the action has been set nice and low in our workshop with a set of round-wound strings.
