1973 Fender Jazz Bass, Sunburst finish. Maple neck and fingerboard with black block inlays and binding. All original with the exception of a rewound neck pickup and a re-fret. Despite its obvious cosmetic wear, this is wonderful bass to play and it sounds great. I personally love these Maple neck Black block Jazz basses. I owned one for many years. It has tons of tone and the growl is fantastic. With both pickups and tone up full this bass really sings with tons of top-end, the mids punch through and the bottom end holds it all together.
The body finish shows lots of wear as you can see from the pictures and there is lacquer checking throughout. The neck is clean in comparison to the body and headstock. The frets show very little signs of wear. The truss rod works as it should. The tips of the pickguard are missing and there are cracks around a couple of the other screw holes.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a low action giving great playability. The neck stamp is impossible to make. The pots all date to the 10th week of 73. Serial 395561. The pickups both date to 73. Weight 9lbs. Nut Width 38mm. Depth at 1st fret 22.5. Supplied with a 3-month warranty.
