1972 Gibson Les Paul Custom in excellent + condition with a cherry sunburst finish. 3-piece mahogany neck, with ebony fingerboard "Pancake" Mahogany body with maple top. The tuners (Kluson), bridge, tailpiece and pickup covers are all changed for correct replacement parts, the control knobs have also been changed. In addition its been professionally re-fretted at some point. Supplied in a later Gibson blue lined case. It plays very well with a straight neck / low action and the truss rod works correctly. Original patent sticker pickups have that classic vintage Les Paul Custom tone. Tons of sustain....go and have a bite and you will still be hearing it!
It has only very light play-wear with some tiny dings dings around the edges and light scuffs on the back of the neck. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The binding has yellowed which is common on customs. It has pat number sticker pickups and the pots date to the mid 72. This guitar has been set up in our workshop and is ready to go. Nut width: 43.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20 mm. Depth at 12th fret: 25.6. Serial: 731300. Weight: 9 lbs 14 oz. 3-month warranty included.
Summary: An outstanding example of an early mahogany neck Les Paul from the Norlin era. Cool features with the electronics all there and the integrity of the guitar finished off with clean hardware for that classy Custom appeal favoured by players from Alex Lifeson to Frank Zappa.
