1968 Fender Jazz in good condition, Sunburst finish with a Tortoiseshell guard, maple neck and a Rosewood fingerboard with pearl blocks & binding. Serial number 218045. Aside from the mid-70s case it's all original and complete with untouched solder. The bass still retains lollipop tuners and a nitro finish. Both pickups date to 68 and all 3 pots date to the 31st week of 66. (pots dating to 66 are commonly found in Fender basses from 66-69) The neck is stamped, Feb 68 A.
This bass is a great player with a superb tone. There are a number of small scuffs and dings to the finish, mainly around the edges and a large patch of buckle rash on the back. The neck has minor playwear through the finish in places. The headstock has a few small dings on the edges and lacquer checking throughout. The frets are clean and in great shape having been dressed in our workshop. All electronics and hardware are in good working order.
The bass has been set up in our workshop with a med/low action with a set of Rotosound nickel round wound 45-105 strings. It has a great sound with a warm tone and plenty of growl. This is a great bass to play and weighs 9lbs 3oz / 4.16 kg. The truss rod works as it should without issue. The nut width is 38.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.8mm. Pickup DC resistance: N 6.56k / B 6.86k.
