1967 Rickenbacker 4005, Fireglo

.1967 Rickenbacker 4005 with a Fireglo finish. Original case included. It has 4 very small holes which have been filled in the centre of the body face. They are in between the 2 pickups, 2 are below the G string and 2 above the E string. (see the picture with arrows)  Probably from an alternate pickguard being on the bass at some point. Other than that it's all original with untouched solder.

The Rickenbacker 4005 is a hollow-body electric bass that was produced starting in 1965. It is similar in design and shape to the iconic Rickenbacker 360 guitar. The 4005 was never as popular as Rickenbacker solid-body basses like the 4001, and the total output of 4005 basses reflects this. Since going out of production, however, the 4005 has attracted increased attention from collectors which has greatly increased the value of these instruments. The body has elegant contours on the front with a flat back which is outlined by checkered binding. The R logo tailpiece alongside the two toaster pickups really make the bass pop aesthetically. The fingerboard is graced with full-width inlays and white binding. This really is a beautiful bass and it sounds awesome.

This Bass is in very good overall condition. There are a number of light patches of play wear plus some scuffs/marks to the finish, mainly around the edges of the body and headstock. The back of the neck is clean with very few marks. It has a lovely slim neck. The frets are in great shape with very little play wear. All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The truss rods are fully functioning and the neck is straight with fantastic action having been set up in our workshop. The pots are dated either late 66 or early 67. Serial GG 3213. Weight 8lbs 9oz. Nut width 42mm. Depth at 1st fret 22.1 mm.
