1966 Fender Precision Bass in exceptional condition with a sunburst finish over an Alder body. It has a C-profile maple neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard, a 7.25" radius and pearl dots. It's all original and complete with undisturbed solder throughout and includes the original case. Serial:165181. Weight: 8lbs 8.5oz / 3.87kg.
The Sunburst finish is still very vibrant and as you can see there are barely any signs of playwear with just one noticeable ding on the edge of the lower horn. The neck and headstock are also extremely clean. The frets are clean and in great shape with plenty of life left in them. The truss rod works correctly. It's an all-around excellent bass, a joy to play and sounds incredible.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop and is strung with a set of flat-wound strings. The pickups have original winds and untouched solder. The pencil dates on the pickups are: 9-16-66 and 9-20-66. The pots also have untouched solder, some of which obscures the date on the volume pot. The tone pot date is fully visible and is 6631. The neck is date-stamped OCT 66 C. Nut width: 43.9 mm, depth at 1st fret 21 mm.
