1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish in very good condition. Tortoiseshell guard, Rosewood fretboard, original case. This is a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck, Jazz Bass. This bass is a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. With the exception of some addition sponge under the pickups this bass is all original and complete with untouched solder and original case.
The Sunburst finish has some very fine lacquer checking and some small dings and scuffs, mainly around the edges. The neck and headstock also have some lacquer checking and light play-wear. There's a few very small dings/scuffs around the edges of the headstock. Everything remains structurally sound and all hardware and electronics are in good working order. It has original frets which are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop and have plenty of life left in them.
The neck is stamped May 66 A. Both pickups have original winds and unbroken solder, no dates are visible as the old sponge has completely stuck to the underside. The pots have unbroken solder and all date to the 21st week of '66.
Fully set in our workshop with a great action and a fresh set of nickel Rotosound round-wound strings. Serial number: 143595. Weight: 8 lbs 14.5 oz. Nut width: 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.5 mm. It comes with a 3-month warranty.
