1966 Fender Jazz Bass, Olympic White finish with a matching headstock in good condition. It has a beautiful Tortoise-shell guard and the neck has a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots. Aside from some new rubber strips under the pickups it's all original and complete, with untouched solder and the original case.
The body finish has yellowed to more of a blonde colour and displays some play wear with a few chips, dings & scuffs, mainly around the edges of the body and some buckle rash on the back. There is light lacquer checking throughout. It has a fantastic neck with finish wear in the first & second position positions. The headstock also has a few scuffs around the edges but nothing major. The original frets are in great condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, the neck is slim at the nut, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario chrome flat-wound strings and sounds amazing. Weight 9lbs. Serial 120457. The neck stamp reads Jan 66A, the pots all date to the 42nd week of 65. The pickups have opriginal windings and unbroken solder, they don't have any visible dates. Nut Width 38.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.6mm. 3-month warranty included.
