1966 Fender Jazz Bass, Lake Placid Blue finish with a matching headstock in very good condition. It has a white guard and the neck has a bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots. Aside from some new rubber strips under the pickups it's all original and complete, including the case. ( the old rubber had gone rock hard, stuck to the underside of the pickups and started to crumble)
The body finish displays some play wear and a few chips and dings, mainly around the edges of the body and some buckle rash on the back. There is light lacquer checking throughout. It has a fantastic clean neck with only slight playwear at the edges. The headstock also has a few scuffs around the edges but nothing major. The original frets are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, the neck is slim at the nut, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Rotosound nickel round wound strings and sounds amazing. Weight 8 lbs 15 oz. Serial 129089. The neck stamp reads Jan 66A, the pots all date to the 9th week of 66. Nut Width 37.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21mm. 3-month warranty included.
