1965 Fender Vibrolux Reverb amplifier in very good condition. Serial number A04866. It's a 35-watt amp driving two original 10" Jensen speakers. The cabinet measures 24 3/4" wide x 18" high. The depth is 7 3/4 " at the top expanding to 9 3/4" at the bottom. The amp is 110V and comes supplied with new step down transformer. It also comes with a new 2-button foot-switch and dust cover.
The amp was fully serviced in late Feb 2021 by Mac Amplification in Leeds. It's had a 3 pin power cord fitted and the death cap removed. The pots have been cleaned and lubricated. Replace noisy resistors to phase inverter. Secure loose mains and output transformers and tighten all other loose screws. Repair intermittent footswitch sockets. All the valve bases have also been cleaned and re-tensioned. All components have been checked for tolerance and the valves tested. It was also noted that previous work includes a replaced one of the 8 pin tube socket and all power supply filter caps. Otherwise, this amp is all original.
The sound is amazing, it has a super warm tone with lush reverb and a wonderful shimmering vibrato. It's very clean, with no tears in the grille cloth and only one or two small dings/scuffs on the cabinet. The metal corners have some light rusting but nothing major. The faceplate is clean with no pitting.
The chassis has nine tubes (1 x GZ34; 2 x 6L6GC; 3 x 12AT7; 3 x 7025), all of which are replaced and are a mixture of brands (JJ / Groove/ Tung Sol) All potentiometers are dated to late 65, as are all the transformers. Both Jensen speakers are stamped with the code 220549 (December 65). The letter code on the tube-chart is OA (O= 1965 and A = January). 30-day warranty included.
