1965 Fender Precision Bass in excellent condition. It has a gorgeous Olympic White finish over an Alder body with a tortoise guard. Serial: L80403. It has a wide and slim C profile maple neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard which has a 7.25" radius and pearl dots. All original including the case and metal covers. Supplied with a 3-month warranty and 14-day returns policy.
The body finish has some minor scuffs and dings but is overall in excellent condition with very little wear. It has yellowed over time which is common with this finish. The finish on the back of the neck is in excellent shape with very few signs of wear. The headstock is equally as clean with just a couple of tiny dings and some lacquer checking. The original frets are in great condition with plenty of life left. An amazing player with an incredible neck.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of 45-105 Elite ground-wound strings and low action. The neck is stamped Sept 65 C. Both pots date to 65 with only the tone pot displaying the full date of the 34th week of 65. (the volume pot has solder over the last digit / the 2nd to last is a 3 - I presume its the 34th week as well) The pickups have original winds but the pencil dates are difficult to read. You can just about make out 65 on one half. The solder is untouched so I am certain they are original to the bass. Serial number: L80403, weight: 9 lbs 1.5 oz / 4.12 kg Nut width: 44.5 mm, depth at 1st fret 21.2 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 11.18k.
