1965 L series Fender Jazz bass in very good condition. It has a beautiful custom colour Fiesta red finish with a matching headstock. All original and 100% Correct, including all solder, hardware, finish and case.
The finish is in very good condition overall. There are a few small nicks and digs in the finish and a small patch of buckle rash on the back of the upper horn. There are no touch ups and no over spray. As with other custom colours that have been nitro clear coated, the clear coat yellows slightly. On a Fiesta red that yellowing leaves a slight orange hue in certain lights. The under the pickguard and in the cavities, you can see the origins of its true colour.
There are signs of wear but these are just a few small dings here and there, some marks on the side and some play wear on the lower edge of the neck by the frets.

aside from the solder on the tone capacitor and the protective sleeve on the longer of the two arms. (the protective sleeve is in my experience always yellow in this period. This one has a black sleeve) It comes supplied in the original hard case.
This is a fine example of a vintage Fender Jazz bass. The finish is still vibrant and in overall great shape. There are only a few small dings and scuffs around the edges of the body but nothing major for a bass of this age. It has a fantastic neck with light play wear and a few small dings in the finish. The original frets are clean and in excellent condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. There is small repair around the edge of the A string tuner post hole possibly due to the fact that different tuners have been on this bass at some point as there are two extra screw holes under each tuning plate on the back. The headstock is otherwise very clean as is all the hardware.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, it has a straight neck which is very slim at the nut, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a great medium/low action and a fresh set of D'addario Chrome flat-wound strings. It weighs 9 lbs 3 oz. Serial: L84633. The neck date is Sep 65A, the pots all date to the 18th week of 65. The pickups have original windings. The sponge is stuck to the underneath of one and the writing is illegible on the other so the dates are not visible. Nut Width: 37.8mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20 mm. It comes with 3-months warranty.
