Early 1965 Fender Jazz Bass in excellent condition, Olympic White finish with a matching headstock. It has a Tortoiseshell guard and a Rosewood fretboard. Other than one screw holding down the neck pickup cover and some extra sponge under the pickups, this bass is all original and complete including the case and untouched solder. This bass is a fantastic player with a great medium/low action, fantastic tone and clean frets.
There's a little wear to the finish around the edges, particularly on the lower bout. This is from a previous owner using a bodyguard. One or two tiny chips in the finish but nothing major. All hardware and electronics are in good working order. The frets are in great shape with virtually no wear. The neck is stamped DEC 64 A. The pots all date to the 50th week of 1964, the pickups have original winds (only one is dated) the date reads 1-29-65 (29th January 1965)
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of strings. Serial number: L52684. Weight: 9 lbs 3 oz. Nut width: 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20 mm.
