1964 Fender Jazz Bass, olympic white, body only refinish. Rosewood fingerboard with clay dots and a tortoise guard. As well as the body being refinished, the tuners have been replaced with vintage reissues and the fingerboard has been re-fretted. It comes with the original cream coloured case.
The body finish displays some play wear and a few chips and dings, mainly around the edges. There seems to have been a screw hole filled in on the top edge of the heel, perhaps from an added strap button? It has a fantastic neck which has lost most of its finish and is therefore very smooth in the hand. The headstock has many scuffs and dings around the edges with one significant chunk missing as can be seen in the pictures.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, the neck is slim at the nut, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up in our workshop. It looks like the strings are la Bella flat-wounds. Weight 8 lbs 14 oz. Serial L50125. The neck date is Oct 64A, the pots all date to the 40th week of 64. Nut Width 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.5mm. 3-month warranty included.
