1963 Fender Precision Bass, Sunburst finish in good condition. All original including the Brown tolex case.
This bass is a joy to play, and what amazing tone it has! The finish has a few nicks/dings and some buckle rash along the back edge of the upper horn and around the serial plate. Due to shrinkage, the tortoiseshell pickguard has cracked in a few areas and in two places broken off completely. (tip of the lower horn and by the edge of the neck pocket on the G string side) The frets are clean and in excellent condition having been cleaned and polished in our workshop. The headstock is in great shape and the back of the neck has only light wear. There is light lacquer checking to the finish throughout.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a set of D'Addario Chrome flat wound strings. The action is set medium-low allowing for smooth playability. The neck date is May 63. Both pots date to the 20th-week of 63. The pickups have black bobbins and original windings. I have re-soldered the contacts on the pickup eyelets (D & G string side only) as the cloth wires were hanging on by a thread and would have broken free sooner or later. All-round fantastic bass. It's nice and light weighing 8 lbs 11.5 oz, Serial: L04195. Nut width: 43.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.45 mm. 3-month warranty included.
