1962 Gibson Les Paul Junior, Cherry finish and nickel hardware. All original, including the Gator case. Very good + condition.
This Junior features the Les Paul logo on the headstock, an angled stopbar tailpiece and a medium C profile neck, which is chunkier than the earlier slim necks. It has a few small scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges of the body. The back of the neck is clean with just a few small nicks. The headstock is clean overall, but does have some scuffing along the top edge. The frets are in great condition with plenty of life left in them. Everything is structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. It’s the perfect guitar for a wide, fat tonal palette that will keep up with the big hitters...
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'addario strings. Serial number: 87230. Weight: 5 lbs 12.5 oz / 2.62 kg. Nut width: 42.5 mm. Depth at the 1st fret: 21.7 mm. The pots date to the 32nd week of 62.
The Gibson SG Junior was introduced in 1960. The budget model of the new SG line quickly became a rock and roll workhorse. These were fitted with a dog ear P-90 pickup on a resonant, lightweight mahogany body. Matched with a stud wrap tailpiece, the clarity, punch and power made these a favourite of the indie crowd.
