Early 1962 Fender Precision Bass with a Fiesta Red refinish in very good condition. Being early '62 it still retains the slab rosewood fingerboard. It's a great player with a superb even sound across the fretboard and is supplied in a Fender reissue tweed case made by G&G. As well as the refinish, it's also been re-fretted. Everything else is original. Serial number: 79475. Weight: 8 lbs 7 oz / 3.83 kg. Nut width: 43.6 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21 mm.
This bass is from my personal collection and I have owned it for around 10 years. The refinish is very good and was already done when I got it. The body finish has moderate playwear (all done by me at rehearsal and gigs) The finish on the back of the neck is original and has plenty of wear as does the headstock which has a fair few scuffs, dings and patches of wear.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Thomastik Infeld flat-wound strings and has a straight neck and great action. The neck is stamped Apr 62 C. The body has the correct nail holes, indicating the body is original. Both pots date to the 18th week of '62. Both pickups have black bobbins and original winds.
