This 1962 Fender Jazz Bass has had the body, neck and headstock refinished. The colour would be best described as pearlescent white and has been sprayed with a poly finish. The headstock decal has been saved and re-used. It has a Rosewood veneer fingerboard with clay dots. (one of the dots at the 12th fret has been replaced. The frets are original and have been levelled in our workshop. The frets are now very low and it will likely need a re-fret fairly soon. In addition, it has a new vintage style bridge, tortoise guard, pickguard & control plate screws, and cloth wiring. It comes in a non original case.
The original parts are: body and neck, frets, pickups, pots, control plate & knobs and the tuners.
The body finish displays some play wear and a few chips and dings, mainly around the edges. There is an extra screw hole in the end of the upper horn (presumably from a re-located strap button) The neck and headstock are very clean.
The neck is straight and the truss rod works correctly. The bass has been set up in our workshop with a set of flat-wound strings. Weight 9 lbs 7.5 oz. Serial 89015. The neck and body dates were lost during the refinishing, but I am confident they are both original. The pots all date to the 31st week of 62. Nut Width 38.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret 19mm. 3-month warranty included.
