1961 Gibson EB3, Cherry

1961 Gibson EB3, Cherry finish and original case. It's missing the palm rest and string mute but otherwise original. This bass does have some wear and tear. Most notably when we got the bass there was a crack in the body running from the output socket around the edge of the body and into the control cavity. We have repaired this using hide glue. It is now perfectly stable. There are also numerous scuffs and large dings in the body, mainly around the edges. The neck and headstock have similar wear and tear with one notable chip along the underside edge of the neck.

Despite the wear and tear, this is a fantastic bass to play with a great action allowing for smooth playability up and down the neck. The frets are in excellent shape, the neck is straight with no issues and the truss rod has plenty of room to move. All electronics and hardware are in good working order.

It's been fully set up by my technician with a fresh set of Rotosound medium-scale flat wound strings. It has a big thumping sound. Jack Bruce eat your heart out. Serial number:28877. Weight:7 lbs 2 oz. Nut width: 43.25 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.85 mm.
