1958 Fender Precision Bass in good condition. Sunburst finish, Gold anodized guard and a maple fingerboard. I have re-soldered the ground wire to the centre face of the tone pot as it was hanging by a thread when I dismantled the bass and the solder was messy anyway. Otherwise original including the tweed case.
This bass is absolutely fantastic. It's an amazing player with an incredible neck. The body has a few small patches of wear around the edges with some buckle rash, dings and scuffs on the back and light lacquer checking throughout. The Sunburst is still very vibrant. The neck finish has worn in a few places and has lacquer checking. There's a little wear to the frets but nothing that affects playability, my guess is that it's been strung with flat wound strings for most, if not all of its life. The hardware is in good condition and the truss rod is fully functioning with no issues. Overall this bass is in fantastic condition.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a set of D'addario Chrome flat wound strings, it has a straight neck and a great action. Serial:027939. Both the body and neck date to 4/58 and both pots date to the 8th week of 58. Nut width: 43.9mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.3 mm. Weight: 9lbs 4.5oz.
