Late 1958 Fender Precision Bass in good condition. Sunburst finish, Gold anodized guard and a maple fingerboard. This bass is all original and 100% stock with unbroken solder joints. The case has brown tolex covering. (These brown cases were introduced in 59 - given the late 58 neck and body dates it's quite possible that it didn't hit the shops until 59 hence the brown case)
This bass is absolutely fantastic. It's an amazing player with an incredible neck. The finish on the body has a lot of wear, particularly along the bottom edge and numerous scratches (buckle rash) on the back. It also has lacquer checking etc. The Sunburst is still very vibrant considering its age. The neck has a few patches along the back edge. ( G string side) There's a little wear to the frets but nothing major and there's plenty of life left in them.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Roundwound strings and has a straight neck and a great med/low action. Serial:32555. The body date is 11/58, the neck date is 11/58. The pots date to the 25th week of 58. Nut width: 43.75mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.7 mm. Weight: 8lbs 10.5oz.
