Early 1965 L series Fender Jaguar, serial L70569, Sunburst finish in excellent + condition. It has a tortoise pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard with pearl dots and an unbound neck. The bridge cover is missing but otherwise all original and complete including the case. It comes with 3-months warranty and a 7-day returns policy.

This is a lovely guitar with only minimal play-wear. The body finish has a few very small dings and scuffs, mainly around the edges. The back of the neck is almost entirely free of wear. The headstock is nearly as clean apart from a few very tiny scuffs along the top edge. All hardware is original and works perfectly, including the trem arm and truss rod, the mute is functional but the foam has hardened as is typical. This can be replaced if desired. The frets are in great shape and have been dressed in our workshop.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario nickel-wound 10-46 strings and a low action. The neck is stamped MAR 65 B. Serial L70569. The pots both date to the 8th week of 65.  Original black bobbin pickups with original winds and untouched solder throughout. Weight 8 lbs 3 oz. Nut width: 41.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.6 mm. Depth at 12th fret 24.7 mm.

The Jaguar was launched in 1962 as another top-of-the-line guitar in the same vein as the Jazzmaster. Both guitars shared the modern offset body shape and distinct floating tremolo system. The Jaguar differed in its use of a shorter 24-inch scale length and stronger single-coil pickups, which were encased in notched covers to shield the electronics from external radio noise (a typical annoyance with the Jazzmasters soapbars). Both guitars integrated a unique dual rhythm/lead circuit design, yet on the Jaguar the lead circuit includes three switches: on-off for the front pickup, on-off for the back pickup, and a bass-cut switch that adds an extra capacitor to the signal.
