1980 Left-Hand Music Man Stingray bass in very good condition. Black finish with a maple neck & rosewood fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ and through-body stringing. It comes with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy. Supplied in a Hiscox flight case with Bass Centre logo.
The bass has been re-fretted at some point and we have replaced the bullet truss rod nut and the mute sponge. Otherwise all original.
There are a few light scuffs and dings to the body as well as some lacquer checking. The neck and fretboard are very clean with just a small patch of wear on the neck of the neck. The headstock has some very light scuffs along the top edge. All the hardware is still shiny. The bullet truss rod was stripped when we received the bass so it was impossible to turn. We replaced it with the correct Music Man part. In doing so we had to remove the nut and a small section of wood to access the stripped part. The job has been done very neatly as can be seen in the pictures.
The body dates to Feb 19th 1980, and the neck dates to March 6th 1980. All three pots date to the 19th week of 79. The frets are in great shape and the truss rod is fully operational with plenty of room to move. The neck is straight and plays smoothly.
This bass has been fully checked over and set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Elites Players ( Nickel) 40-100 round wound strings. Serial number: B015230. Weight: 10 lbs 3.5 oz / 4.63 kg. Nut width: 42.6 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 19.7 mm.
