1979 Music Man Sabre bass, fretless, in near-mint condition. It has a black pickguard, a 2-band EQ, 2 humbucking pickups, an internal micro-powered pre-amp with brightness + phase in/out and pickup selector switches. Aside from new mute sponge, it's all original, including the case.
The body finish is extremely clean with only light scuffs around the edges. The headstock is also very clean except for 2 very small patches of wear where the neck meets the headstock (probably from a stand or wall hanger) and some light scuffing on the top edge. The back of the neck is immaculate. The board is extremely clean with little sign of wear. The truss rod is fully operational with plenty of room to move. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. The electronics work perfectly, and all hardware is in excellent condition. The case has some damage at the bottom end and along the hinged side - see pics. This is an all-around excellent bass.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball flatwound strings and has a great action, allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is C002683. Weight: 10 lbs / 4.54 kg. Its hard to make out the body date other than 1979. The neck date is Sept 5th 1979. The pots are dated to mid-79. Nut Width: 43 mm.
