1979 Musicman Stingray in excellent condition. Walnut finish, Black pickguard, Maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2 band EQ, epoxy coated preamp and through-body stringing.
There are a few small scuffs/dings in the finish and some light lacquer checking but nothing major. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. Aside from the missing mute sponge, this bass is all original and complete. The case is not original to the bass.
The serial number is B011003. Weight: 9lbs 10oz. The body date is not fully visible. You can just about make out the letters DEC and the number 20. (my strong suggestion is that it is dated Dec 20 1978) The neck dates to Jan 1979. The pots all date to the 41st week of 78. The truss rod is fully working with plenty of room to move. The action is set nice and low.
This is an all-round excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. It's been fully set up with a fresh set of Rotosound strings and has a great action allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. Nut Width: 42.75 mm. Depth at 1st fret 19.75mm.
