1978 Music Man Stingray, Sunburst

1978 Music Man Stingray bass in good condition. Sunburst finish with a maple neck & fretboard.  Equipped with a 2 band EQ and through-body stringing. It comes in a new Gator hard-case. It's a very early 1978 Sunburst Stingray with serial B005193. Completed either side of Christmas 1977: December 22nd '77 body, Jan 3rd '78 neck. It has a black epoxy pre-amp. One pot dates to 77 the other two to 79 (possibly factory replacements under warranty) The neck has a new nut as well as being re-fretted and over-sprayed with clear lacquer on the front and back. The headstock face appears untouched. The body finish is original. The pickup is either rewound or from a slightly later pre-Ernie Ball Stingray due to the colour of the windings. The mute sponge has been replaced. It comes with 3-months warranty and a 14-day returns policy.

There's general wear and tear and numerous small dings in the body as well as lacquer checking. The headstock is in good shape overall with just a few scuffs along the top edge. The frets have tons of life in them, as it's re-fretted. Someone clearly played this one with the guard off for many years as there is thumb wear around the pickup cavity. (see final picture)

It is fully set up and re-strung with Ernie ball 45-105 strings. Plays well and sounds great. Serial number: B005193. Weight: 10lbs 5oz. Nut width: 42.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20 mm.
