1977 Music Man Stingray, Sunburst

1977 Musicman Stingray in good condition. Sunburst finish, white pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ, epoxy-coated preamp and through-body stringing. It comes in a new Gator flight case.

There are the usual small scuffs and dings in the finish as well as some more extensive finish wear along the bottom edge. These areas have been filled in with what looks to be black marker pen. The neck and fretboard are clean with very little wear said from a few small nicks & dings. The neck is straight and plays smoothly and the truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. The frets are in excellent condition with plenty of life left in them and have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. This is an all-round excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. The electronics are in great condition, but some of the wiring has been reworked over the years (the output jack was replaced with a replacement switch craft jack). The Pickguard looks to be non-original and has a small crack from one of the screw holes. (not visible in the main shots but I have added a close-up. The mute pads have been replaced.

It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings and has a great action allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is: B005938. Weight: 11 lbs 8 oz / 5.23kg. The neck pocket is stamped: Feb 25, 1977. The neck stamp is not visible.  The pots are a mixture of dates, from 76 and 77. Nut Width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.7mm.

Condition Good 7/10
