1977 Music Man Stingray in excellent condition. Sunburst finish, black pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2 band EQ, epoxy coated preamp and through-body stringing. This is an early model with the pickup having long poll pieces and the cavity having two channels to accommodate it. I have replaced the string mute sponge with the correct material as it was missing. The ground wire in the harness is brown so I believe it's been changed as it should be black. Other than that the bass appears to be all original, including the hard case.
There are a few small scuffs/dings in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body and a couple on the back of the neck. The headstock is relatively clean with only a few very minor scuffs. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. The original frets have minimal wear and have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. This is an all-round excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of round-wound strings and has a great action allowing for superb playability up and down the neck.
The serial number is B006351. Weight: 10lbs 12oz. The body is stamped July 21, 1977, and the neck July 28 1977. The pots all date to mid 77. The truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. Nut Width: 43 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21mm.
