1979 Music Man Fretless Stingray in exceptionally good condition. Sunburst finish, black pickguard, maple neck with a rosewood fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ and through-body stringing. Aside from what appears to be new mute sponge, it's all original, including the hard case. The case is free from any cracks.
The body finish is very clean with just a few tiny scuffs/dings, mainly around the edges. The headstock has some very minor scuffing on the top edge and a couple of small dings. The back of the neck is extremely clean except for some very light wear in the finish and a small scratch/ding near where the neck meets the body. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. The fingerboard is extremely clean with no signs of wear. The electronics work perfectly, and all hardware is in excellent condition. The truss rod works correctly without issue. This is an all-around excellent bass.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a set of flat-wound strings and has a great action, allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is B014839. Weight: 10 lbs 4.5 oz / 4.67 kg. The body date is difficult to make out. The neck date is Aug 22nd 1979. The pots are dated to mid '79. The truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. Nut Width: 43 mm.
