1964 Fender Precision Bass in good condition with a Sunburst finish over an Alder body. It has a wide C profile Maple neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard, a 7.25" radius and clay dots. It weighs 8 lbs 6 oz / 3.8 kg. Serial: L39711. Except for the metal pickup cover, it's all original and complete, with untouched solder, and includes the original case.
This is a fantastic playing and sounding instrument, it has a straight neck and original frets which are in excellent condition, having been dressed in our workshop. There are a number of scuffs, dings and larger patches of wear, including buckle rash. The back of the neck also has playwear throughout the finish. The headstock is relatively clean with only a few small scuffs around the edges.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of La Bella 760FS Deep Talking, flat-wound strings. The neck date is JUL 64 C. The tone pot is date stamped, 26th week of '64. The volume pot date is covered in solder, but the solder is untouched, so I am in no doubt it's original. The pickups have Black bobbins and original winds. All-around fantastic bass. Nut width: 44 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 11.41k.
